Kopytek Inc. Purchases High-Speed Cutting System from Heidelberg

May 14, 2008: ST. LOUIS, MO – Kopytek, Inc. of Overland has announced a contract agreement with Heidelberg USA (HUSA) in Kennesaw, GA to purchase a high-speed cutting system. The Polar Model 92 XT 36” paper cutter is Heidelberg’s top of the line unit.



According to Kopytek CEO John Peterson, the Heidelberg equipment addition will set new standards in terms of high-quality output, reduction of make-ready and non-production times, minimizing start-up waste and enhancing operations.



“It is a powerful tool for economical, high net output production,” he said. “This new cutting system will provide the automation and precision required for a competitive edge in this industry. Our purchase agreement also includes the Polar RA2 jogger with air removal system. The key is that the Heidelberg is programmable meaning we’ll have the capability of storing customer data for easy recall on repeat job requests.”



In addition, Peterson indicated the XT machine comes fully equipped with the following features:

. Automatic back gauge, slow

. Gripper margin adjustment, programmable

. Repeat cutting on one measurement

. Strip size correction

. Automatic repetition of part of program

. Cut counter

. Compensation for variations in print

. Programming with cutting

. Variable pre-clamping time

. Step and repeat function electro tact

. Variable ejector distance



Bill Rose, HUSA Sales Representative, expects Kopytek to be installed with the new Heidelberg equipment by second quarter 2008, shortly after the company relocates to its new corporate headquarters at 9595 Dielman Rock Industrial Court in Olivette. The company projects to more than double its operating environment with its new $2.4 million, 20,000 square foot office, production and warehousing facility. In conjunction with the company’s current operations in Overland, Kopytek will also add an additional $2 million in the latest digital imaging technology.
